Born in Manhattan, Jeremy Piven was raised in Evanston, Illinois, where his parents founded the now-famous Piven Theater Workshop. Piven concentrated on football by day and studying improvisational techniques by night at his parents' repertory. After graduating from high school, he attended Drake University as a student of the theater, later earning his degree from New York University. Piven also attended the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and The National Theater of Great Britain, where he trained intensively in Shakespearean acting. Piven, most recognized for his years as Ellen's cousin, Spence Kovak, on ABC's ELLEN, was first brought to Los Angeles on 1989 by Carol Burnett's CAROL & CO. He played the edgy head writer on The Larry Sanders Show for two seasons and starred as Nathan Green, the high-strung, unemployed father of two, in PRIDE & JOY. Piven's feature film credits include the upcoming savage comedy, VERY BAD THINGS, due out in November, GROSSE POINT BLANK with John Cusack; HEAT, opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino; LARGER THAN LIFE with Bill Murray; KISS THE GIRLS with Morgan Freeman; PHOENIX, starring Ray Liotta; MUSIC FROM ANOTHER ROOM, starring Jude Law; and the independent films, LAYIN' LOW and LIVERS AIN'T CHEAP. He also appeared in the acclaimed cable television movie, ONLY IN AMERICA: THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF DON KING. | | | |

A native of Rockville, Maryland, Paula Marshall's big break came when she landed a guest-starring role on SEINFELD. Her memorable performance as the young NYU college reporter who overhears a conversation between Jerry and George as they pretend to be gay -- the "not that there's anything wrong with that episode" -- earned Marshall a commitment from NBC to develop a series to showcase her comedic talents. In her career, Marshall has earned an impressive list of television credits, including, most recently, a six-episode run on SPIN CITY as Michael J. Fox's fiancée. She was a series regular on CHICAGO SONS and had guest spots on THE WONDER YEARS and LIFE GOES ON. Marshall has also made her mark on the big screen, starring as Bette Midler's daughter in Universal Pictures' romantic comedy, THAT OLD FEELING; as Robert Duvall's daughter in A FAMILY THING; and appearing in the feature film, THE NEW AGE, with Judy Davis and Peter Weller. | | | |

Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Sams is the youngest of seven children. His mother, wise to his early creative leanings, made her son attend the School of Creative and Performing Arts, where he excelled in acting, song and dance. With great academic and creative achievements throughout school, Sams received several scholarships to pursue his education, ultimately graduating from Webster University in St. Louis. Upon leaving school, Sams went to Chicago, was cast and received critical acclaim in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Heading to New York, he landed numerous Broadway shows, including the smash hits, "The Wiz"," "Big River" and "Five Guys Named Moe"; as well as "The Old Settler" "The Taming of the Shrew" and "Little Shop of Horrors," to name a few. Eventually making the move to Hollywood, Sams has earned an impressive list of film credits, including "Soul Food," "Waiting to Exhale," "Just Write" "Prep"; and "Fly By Night," winner of the Trophy Award at the Sundance film festival in 1995. Sams also has an extensive list of television credits, including the Goldie Hawn-directed film, "Hope"; the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, "For the Roses"; and a part as a personal trainer accused of murder in a "Law & Order" trilogy. Sams has starred as a series regular on such shows as "Sleepwalkers," "Courthouse" and "Medicine Ball." Sams lives in Los Angeles with his bride, Lisa, and their Himalayan cat, Frank. There he actively supports Equity Fighting AIDS and several other AIDS causes. | | | |
